God’s Call

For some time I’ve been reading and studying about the corona virus or COVID-19. Several times I’ve started to put what I’ve discovered on my blog but didn’t feel the release to do so and neither do I now. Many verses of the Bible have been quoted, read, and put on social media. My question is who is all this for. Is it for me as an individual, church leaders, or the church worldwide? Is this another chance for us, as individuals or as a church to get back to what God called us to do at the beginning. Are we in the same ship that Jonah was in and was swallowed by the great fish crying out to God for repentance. There is work to be done. God is reaching out to you and to me to be busy about our fathers business. We need not worry about the church attendance and what people we reach from a cultural point, but to reach out and touch individuals lives. We’ve never been through a time like this when it seems like life has shut down. God’s spirit is going up and down streets, entering into homes to see who will heed his call. Bill Winters, late pastor of El Paso Drive Church, wrote a book, “Convert Conservation”. I believe more than ever we need to not just get people to accept Christ but to teach and train them, pray deliverance over them that they can reach out to others. The next great evangelist may not come out of the biggest or most popular Bible School but one that is reading God’s word and letting God’s spirit fill their heart and mind to preach truth. Most of us believe that there are angels all around us protecting and fighting our battles. Look at your angels shield, is it worn and battered for fighting your battles or are they nice and shinny from not being dispatched to fight. God is raising up a people that will hold the banner high and reap in the harvest for Christ. You may be reading this and have lost your way. Maybe you were raised in church but have gone your own way. Has God had a call on your life but you have gone down a different road? God still loves you and wants to use you in this the last day period. You can reach someone that no one else can reach. Psalm 139 says “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
